On the following pages we will give you a quick and general overview of the different educational pathways in North Frisia. You will also find information about institutions with costs and where you can apply for support.

  • Graduation
    First General Education Graduation (ESA): Exam at the end of grade 9. You can start a vocational training with the ESA. For some jobs that requires training, the ESA is not enough.

    Middle School Certificate (MSA): Exam at the end of the 10th grade. You can start a vocational training with the MSA.

    Senior High School: exam at the end of the 13th grade. With the Abitur ( Maturity) you can start a vocational training or study at a university.

    Support in the transition from school to work: from the eighth grade, there are support offers in the school to find a suitable job for everyone. Teenagers get help to find out how they can learn this profession.
  • Family Center
    Support, courses and meeting places offers for parents and children. There is a family center near you. The offers usually do not cost anything.
  • Family Education Center
    Courses, meeting places and information offers for all people. It costs money. Parents with less financial means can ask (a request in writing form) to pay less. Ask at the Center for further information.
  • OGS / OGT
    Open all-day school / open full-day after school. Parents can register their children for it. It is voluntary. It costs money. People with little money can apply to pay less. Ask! There is lunch, care, help with homework, sports, music, painting, playing ...
  • Hort (Day Care after School)
    After school. Parents can register their children for it. It is voluntary. It costs money. Parents with less financial means can ask (a request in writing form) to pay less. Ask at the Day care directly! There is lunch, care, help with homework, games ...
  • Youth Centers
    In youth centers there are many opportunities for children and adolescents after school: sports, games, crafts, spending time together ... The offers do not cost anything. They are voluntary.
  • Clubs / Association
    There are many associations for sports, culture, nature, music ... Children, adolescents and adults can participate. It costs money. Parents with less financial means can ask (a request in writing form) to pay less. Ask your club!
